Khaosod reports that the Superintendent of Lumpini Police Station on Monday admitted that the plainclothes men seen in a viral video clip aggressively arresting and taking a female protester away were actually plainclothes policemen.

Pol.Col. Chaiya Kongsap told the press that the men in the video were in fact investigative police officers from Lumpini Police Station.

The incident took place on Sunday near the Asoke intersection, when a few individuals who joined the anti-coup peaceful protest were arrested.

The clip was filmed and published on the Bangkok Post’s website before going viral on the internet.

As of June 2, ten people have been arrested since the coup for peacefully protesting the coup. They have been detained at the Police’s Crime Suppression Division in Bangkok.

Six were arrested on Sunday, including the female protester taken away by the plainclothes officers in a pink taxi, as shown in the vdo clip.
